Sanibel Island
Sanibel Island is a barrier island off the coast of Ft. Myers, Florida. Acclaimed as having one of the world’s best beaches for shelling, it also is the home of the Sanibel Stoop
a bent-over posture of those seeking the best specimen on the beach. The entire island is an idyllic setting in tune with nature. As the balmy breezes from the Gulf combine with the warm, Florida sunshine, everyday worries are put on hold. Here, the biggest problems are wiggling the sand from one’s toes and not wanting to go home! Yearly, Sanibel welcomes visitors from all over the world and many families, generation after generation, return to Sanibel for vacations of fun, peace, and the making of unforgettable memories. Recreation activities on Sanibel offer miles of bike paths, golfing, swimming, kayaking, parasailing, wind surfing, boating, fishing, and walking the pristine, white beaches.
